Remembering Chance

If we are fortunate enough, we cross paths and are privileged to journey life for a time with another being who we connect with on a level so deep that it’s beyond even our own understanding. For me, that being was a dog named Chance. My heart. My soul.

I adopted Chance at age 2 on October 8, 2004. He went to be with God on January 3, 2016. Chance’s life started out rough and he never, ever forgot that he was saved by the kindness of humans on multiple occasions. Gratitude oozed from his being. I miss my spirit animal so much that it’s hard to breathe some days. Our connection was–and remains–extraordinary. Chance is forever my shooting star.
